Trinamool Congress leader Kalyan Banerjee lost ₹55 lakh after cybercriminals accessed his State Bank of India account using forged documents. The fraudsters changed his contact details and transferred the funds, exploiting the account's dormancy. Banerjee's account, linked to his MLA allowances, was compromised through fake KYC updates. Kolkata Police's cybercrime department is investigating the incident.
