UIDAI has waived fees for mandatory biometric updates (MBUs) for blue Aadhaar cards, benefiting children aged 5-17, effective from October 1, 2025, for one year. After this period, each MBU will cost Rs 125. The updates capture essential biometric data as children grow, ensuring accurate identification for about 6 crore children in India.
