Senegal baskets are hot, but women weavers ask where's the money?
In northwest Senegal, Khady Sene and local women weave traditional baskets, facing challenges as authentic pieces are often undervalued domestically and exploited abroad. Despite their craftsmanship, they receive little profit compared to inflated prices overseas. Architect Fatima Jobe aims to empower these artisans through fair wages and improved market access, fostering community support and preserving cultural heritage.
