A beginner's guide to Kwanzaa
Kwanzaa, founded in 1966, is a week-long celebration of African culture and unity observed in the U.S. and countries with African descendant populations. Celebrated by 3% of Americans, it promotes self-determination through its seven principles, known as Nguzo Saba. The holiday emerged during the Black Freedom Movement, reconnecting communities with African traditions.
