Social media has its own pros and cons. While it helps us to connect with the world, it also keeps us at high alert at all times. The feeling of staying connected can also make us feel stressful at times. "Being so connected causes our nervous system to be on high alert. This can put stress on the mind and body. Intentional breaks from technology could benefit us by bringing our attention back into the here and now, so that we may practice our wellness skills and engage in a valued driven life," wrote Therapist Andrea Evgeniou.
