Surpassing the 2019 Amazon August wildfires that shocked the world, this year's wildfires in Brazilian rainforest have hit a record, becoming the highest for the month since 2010. National space research agency INPE registered 31,513 fire alerts in the Amazon via satellite in the first 30 days of the month, making it the worst in a decade. Fires registered are reported 20% up than average for the month of August as per the data. Experts have blamed President Bolsonaro for poor regulation of environmental laws which has paved way for large scale deforestation resulting into wildfires at an alarming rate in Brazil.
