Sebi plans to engage with industry stakeholders to include REITs in market indices, enhancing liquidity for these investment instruments, as announced by chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey. Efforts will also focus on broadening mutual fund investment options and increasing retail awareness. Currently, REITs face low market penetration, with only 10% awareness among investors.
