Jaxson Dart injury update: The New York Giants were forced to bring their star quarterback out of the game against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. Russell Wilson was in for Q4 as the visitors lost a close 24-20 game at Soldier Field. Did Dart's injury legitimately hurt the Giants? Yes.
In the third quarter, Dart took a hard hit on a designed run. The youngster was in the game on a late drive, but was soon taken out per the concussion protocol. The Giants said he was ruled out.
Dart was 19 for 29 for 242 yards when he left. He also had six carries for 66 yards and two touchdowns, becoming the first QB in NFL history with at least one rushing TD in five consecutive games. He took the hit on a run with 5:05 left in the third, with Bears defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson putting him down.
Russell Wilson, who began the season as New York's starter, took over.
Jaxson Dart Week 11 update
The Giants, now 2-8 this season and at the bottom of the NFC East, will play the Green Bay Packers next week. Dart will now have to go through the league's concussion protocol, and it is likely that he will miss the Week 11 game.
Wilson is expected to lead the Giants vs the Packers with the team desperate for a win. On Sunday, the veteran completed both of his pass attempts for 45 yards and led a run-heavy scoring drive capped by Younghoe Koo's 19-yard field goal with 10:19 left. His second drive in the fourth quarter ended with a punt.
