Diddy was nearly stabbed in prison; ‘eats chips out of bags and punished himself'
Big revelations were made at Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs' sentencing hearing on Friday
Big revelations were made at Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs' sentencing hearing on Friday. The disgraced music mogul's lawyer said that the 55-year-old was nearly stabbed in prison and has been ‘punishing himself’. The 'I'll Be Missing You' artist was convicted in July of flying people around the country for sexual encounters, including his girlfriends and male sex workers. A jury acquitted, however, acquitted him of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges.

Prosecutors demanded an 11-year sentence for Diddy. Defense lawyers said that the appropriate sentence is 14 months, which would mean Combs would be released by the end of the year after receiving credit for time served.

Diddy was nearly stabbed
Defense attorney Brian Steel, during the sentencing hearing, said that Diddy was nearly stabbed by another inmate in prison.
“Sean is not a typical person in custody, everyone knows him,” Steel said. It’s a trophy for them, they get recognition if they harm him.”
The lawyer further added that his client has not slept more than two hours consecutively since he was arrested.
“He eats out of bags, he eats chips all day long,” he said. “He sometimes would tell me, ‘it’s not worth going on, there’s nothing here, there’s no more hope.’ But his family — he could not again bring suffering on them, that would just be more trauma to them."
‘Has punished himself’
Diddy's lawyer stated that the rapper is a ‘great man’.
“Some of the media have called Sean a disgrace, an outcast, like a leper — those people are wrong,” Steel said. “I know Sean personally. He’s a great man who is being sentenced, but he still has done things that I would dream of doing.”
Steel added that Diddy ‘has punished himself more than anyone will ever be able to punish him’. “It will stay with him for the rest of his days,” the lawyer added.
