Spotify crashes as Taylor Swift's ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ drops on platform

Taylor Swift's new album The Life of a Showgirl caused a rush on Spotify, with 1000+ users reporting app crashes, per DownDetector.

Taylor Swift's latest album, 'The Life of a Showgirl' dropped on the music streaming platform Spotify on Thursday evening. Thousands of fans rushed to the platform to stream the pop icon's latest album, which contains 12 tracks. Such was the rush to listen to the album that many reported that Spotify crashed when they tried to open it.

According to DownDetector, more than 1000 people reported that Spotify crashed for them when they tried to play Taylor Swift's latest release.

All 12 tracks from Swift new album dropped on the platform, with Spotify notifying users about on their X handle. Soon after, there was a rush of users to the platform to stream the songs, which reportedly caused the crash.

“SO I WOKE UP AT 5 AM FOR THE LIFE OF A SHOWGIRL JUST FOR SPOTIFY TO CRASH DOWN @Spotify FIX YOURSELF & DO IT QUICKLY,” one angry user wrote.

“Even though Spotify is down…I’m still hella happy!!! Happy release day #swifties,” said another.

“Is it a Taylor release day if Spotify does not go down?” wrote one, sharing a screenshot of the issue.

Swift latest album features 12 tracks: The Fate of Ophelia, Elizabeth Taylor, Opalite, Father Figure, Eldest Daughter, Ruin the Friendship, Actually Romantic, Wi$h Li$t, Wood, CANCELLED!, Honey, The Life of a Showgirl (feat. Sabrina Carpenter).
