Chile's President Gabriel Boric on Sunday congratulated Jeannette Jara of Unidad por Chile and Jose Antonio Kast of the Republican Party on advancing to the presidential runoff, as 97 per cent of polling stations had reported. Jeannette Jara, the ruling coalition's Unidad por Chile presidential candidate, celebrated advancing to the runoff on Sunday, despite results not yet showing whether she had finished ahead of her rival, Republican leader Jose Antonio Kast. Jara addressed her supporters and affirmed that these results reflect a desire to move toward a fairer, more inclusive country with opportunities for everyone.
