Democrat donor George Clooney blasts Kamala Harris' nomination after explosive 2024 Anti-Biden op-ed

Hollywood actor and prominent Democratic donor George Clooney called the decision to nominate Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential election a “mistake,” stating she was forced to run against her own record and faced an impossible task. Clooney said he stands by his earlier New York Times op-ed urging President Joe Biden to step aside, but now believes Democrats should have held an open primary to battle-test new candidates. He expressed frustration with party leadership, noting that public dissent among Democrats surged after Biden’s poor debate performance and subsequent replacement by Harris, who ultimately lost to Donald Trump in November 2024.
