Turkey’s representative at the UN Security Council, speaking on behalf of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and later in a national capacity, urged the global community to safeguard the recently achieved Gaza ceasefire and fully implement the peace agreement brokered with support from President Trump, Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey. Ankara welcomed the signing of the “Trump Declaration for Enduring Peace and Prosperity,” calling the truce a “long‑overdue and hard‑won step” and stressing that diplomacy, not force, must guide the region’s future.
