Modi govt's veiled Biden-Trump election row jibe at Americans questioning Indian democracy

External affairs minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar talked about the Biden administration in the US and how India sees the upcoming ‘democracy summit’. “I am very confident about the state of my democracy,” Jaishankar said. Taking a veiled jibe at the Biden-Trump election row, Jaishankar said India’s elections are not in doubt, India’s electoral process is not in doubt. “If we were to participate in a gathering of democracy, I would assert our credentials very much better than a lot of countries and a lot of people who are passing comments on us,” the foreign minister added.
