Russia has voiced support for Venezuela amid reports that President Nicolás Maduro secretly appealed to allies for military aid as U.S. tensions rise. According to The Washington Post, internal U.S. documents reveal Maduro requested defensive radars, aircraft repairs, and possibly missiles from Russia, China, and Iran. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Moscow is “closely monitoring” the situation, while the Russian Foreign Ministry reaffirmed readiness to assist partners facing “emerging threats.” Flight tracking data also showed a Russian Il-76 cargo plane arriving in Caracas on October 31. Meanwhile, the Miami Herald reported that President Donald Trump had approved potential military action against Venezuela, though he later dismissed the claims as “fake stories.” The U.S. has intensified military drills in the Caribbean and launched strikes against alleged narco-terrorist targets near Venezuela, as diplomatic efforts with Caracas reportedly remain suspended.
