In a heated escalation of trade tensions between Brazil and the United States, President Lula da Silva has defiantly rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s threats of a 50% tariff on Brazilian goods. Lula accused Trump of spreading falsehoods about Brazil’s trade policies and announced possible retaliatory taxes on U.S. tech companies operating in Brazil, particularly those reportedly promoting violence.
