Dublin erupts in protest after child allegedly raped by asylum seeker | Ireland

A massive riot erupted in Dublin’s Saggart district after allegations surfaced that a 10-year-old girl in state care was raped by a rejected asylum seeker from an African country. Thousands of furious residents gathered outside a migrant shelter near the former Citywest Hotel, hurling projectiles at police, launching fireworks, and torching a police van. Authorities deployed water cannon and reinforcements to restore order as unrest deepened across the Irish capital.
