Denmark has labeled the United States a potential security risk in a striking shift for a key NATO ally, according to a new intelligence assessment released by the Danish Defence Intelligence Service on December 10. The report warns that political decisions by the Trump administration are accelerating mistrust between the U.S. and Europe and increasing uncertainty over Washington’s role as Europe’s security guarantor. It alleges the U.S. is using economic power to pressure allies and adversaries, while also highlighting rising threats from Russia and China. The warning comes amid stalled Ukraine peace talks and intensifying Arctic competition involving the U.S., Russia, and China.
