A 5.7 magnitude earthquake struck central Bangladesh on Friday morning, resulting in at least six fatalities and numerous injuries. The quake, centered in Narsingdi district near Dhaka, caused panic as tremors were felt across West Bengal and northeastern India. Despite Bangladesh's earthquake-prone northern regions, this central area is usually less active.
