Two tourist trains collided near Machu Picchu on Tuesday, resulting in one death and approximately 30 injuries. The deceased was a railroad worker, prompting the suspension of services along the route from Cuzco. Machu Picchu, a UNESCO site attracting 1.5 million visitors annually, has seen a 25% increase in tourism over the past decade despite ongoing political issues.
