Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro underwent a phrenic nerve block procedure to treat persistent hiccups, as reported by his wife. Doctors blocked the right phrenic nerve and plan another procedure for the left. Bolsonaro, 70, is recovering from hernia surgery and was recently sentenced to 27 years in prison for coup plotting, having faced ongoing health issues since a 2018 stabbing.
