Louvre hikes ticket prices for most non-EU visitors by 45% month after jewel theft

The Louvre museum in Paris announced a 45-percent ticket price increase for non-EU visitors, raising entry fees to $37 starting January 14, 2026. This hike aims to generate up to $23 million annually for structural improvements, following a recent theft of $102 million in jewelry. Unions criticized the move as discriminatory against non-European tourists.
