An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 struck the Andaman Sea on Sunday at 12:06 pm IST, causing concern in coastal areas, including Malaysia, but no tsunami threat was confirmed. Tremors were felt across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, although no damage or casualties were reported. The region is known for seismic activity, classified as a Zone V seismic area.
