Thailand and Cambodia signed a ceasefire agreement to end border fighting over territorial claims, effective immediately. The deal includes halting military movements and repatriating 18 Cambodian soldiers. Civilians have suffered greatly, with significant casualties reported. The ceasefire aims to stabilize the region and allow displaced individuals to return home. Previous agreements had been undermined by ongoing violence.
