Donald Trump on new $1 coin: US Treasury confirms minting commemorative coin for America's 250th anniversary
US Treasurer Brandon Beach said that the $1 coin featuring President Trump will coincide with the 250th anniversary of the American Declaration.
The US Treasury on Friday confirmed that it is considering minting a one-dollar coin featuring US President Donald Trump, which coincides with America's 250th independence anniversary.

US Treasurer Brandon Beach confirmed the development and said that the $1 coin featuring President Trump will coincide with the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence.
Beach posted the "first drafts" of the design on X, adding that he was “looking forward to sharing more soon”, once the shutdown of the United States government is over.
“No fake news here. These first drafts honoring America’s 250th Birthday and @POTUS are real. Looking forward to sharing more soon, once the obstructionist shutdown of the United States government is over,” Beach said in a post on X.
The new coin would also feature words "Fight, Fight, Fight" over an image of Trump with his fist raised. The image depicts Trump shortly after he was injured in an assassination attempt during his presidential campaign last year.
The plan for the coin emerged in 2020 after the US Congress passed a legislation allowing the Treasury to issue one-dollar coins "with designs emblematic of the US semiquincentennial." The legislation allows the US treasury to mint such coins for issuance during the one-year period from January 2026.
A Treasury spokesperson, when asked about the coin, attacked what he called the "radical left's forced shutdown of our government", adding that the country is entering its anniversary next year "stronger, more prosperous, and better than ever before."
"This first draft reflects well the enduring spirit of our country and democracy, even in the face of immense obstacles," the spokesperson told AFP.
