Erika Kirk was visibly emotional as she recounted the exact moment she learned her husband, Charlie Kirk, had been shot at the Utah Valley University in September. In her first interview since his assassination, the Turning Point USA CEO told Fox News' Jesse Watters that she was at her mother's doctor appointment on the day. The 36-year-old added that she ‘did’nt get to give him a kiss' before he left home for the event.
The widow also addressed conspiracy theories around her late husband's death.
“I’ll never forget. I’m just being like, ‘Charlie’s been shot. He’s been shot. Get the kids. Get security. Get the kids. Get the kids. He’s been shot.’ I sprinted out of her treatment center, just collapsed in the middle of the parking lot, called our security,” she recalled.
Days after Charlie's death, Erika Kirk was accompanied by VP JD Vance to a TPUSA event at the University of Mississippi. What was supposed be a forum to motivate students, turned out to be a controversial moment for the two. A hug between Erika and Vance sparked baseless and unfounded speculation.
While neither Kirk nor Vance have addressed the bizarre reactions, a lip reader revealed what the TPUSA CEO told the VP on stage.
Lip reader Nicola Hickling, according to Mirror US, revealed that Erika spoke to her assisstant about facing difficulties to take the stage at Ole Miss.
"I can't do this, I don't want to do it," the lip reader revealed her statement. As she embraced Vance on stage, the vice president reportedly told her: “I am proud of you.”
Erika responded with: "It's not gonna bring him back," referencing her late husband's death.
Speaking about the horrific assassination video, showing a bullet striking Charlie's neck, Erika told Watters: “I never saw the video. I never will see it. I never want to see it. There’s certain things you see in your life that you can never unsee. There’s certain things you see in your life that mark your soul forever. I don’t want my husband’s public assassination to be something I ever see.”
