President Donald Trump doubled down on checking immigration policies after the shooting in Washington DC.

In response to the shooting of two National Guard members in Washington DC, USCIS has halted immigration requests for Afghan nationals and mandated a review of Green Cards for individuals from 19 countries, including those on Trump’s travel ban list. USCIS director Joseph Edlow emphasized that American safety is paramount, and prior policies will not impose costs on citizens.
