SSA confirms January 2026 SSI payment changes due to federal holiday.

The Social Security Administration has announced that Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments for January 2026 will be disbursed on December 31, 2025, due to New Year's Day being a federal holiday. Approximately 74 million Americans rely on Social Security benefits, with around seven million receiving SSI. Payment schedules are based on the beneficiary's birth date.
