Lincoln University shooting: 1 dead, 6 injured in homecoming weekend mass shooting; hunt on for suspect
The shooting reportedly happened at around 9 pm on Saturday (local time) when the students were celebrating homecoming weekend in the campus.
At least one person died and six others got injured in a mass shooting at the Pennsylvania campus of Lincoln University on Saturday night during Homecoming weekend, CBS News reported citing Chester County district attorney.
Earlier, the office of Chester County's district attorney said that local, state, and federal law enforcement are investigating the shooting at Lincoln University and that the public should continue to avoid the area.

- A mass shooting took place on the campus of Lincoln University in Pennsylvania on Saturday evening during homecoming weekend.
- Chester County's district attorney reportedly said that one person died and six were injured in the incident.
- Earlier, in a post on X, he said that seven gunshot victims were identified and urged people to avoid the area.
- During a press conference, district attorney Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe also said a suspect in possession of a gun has been taken into custody, reported CBS News.
- Reacting to the shooting, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro said that he has been briefed about the shooting and urged people to follow the guidance of local law enforcement.
- "I’ve been briefed on the shooting at Lincoln University tonight, and my Administration has offered our full support to President Allen and local law enforcement. Please avoid the area, continue to follow the guidance of local law enforcement, and join Lori and me in praying for the Lincoln University community,” he wrote in a post on X.
- The shooting happened at around 9 pm on Saturday (local time) when the students were celebrating homecoming weekend near the football field, reported CBS News.
- Roads around the campus have been blocked off and people have been asked to avoid the area.
- After the shooting, Lincoln University said in a post on Instagram that counseling services will open to provide support for students and staff at at 10 am on Sunday (local time).
