Ludhiana girl thrashed for rejecting marriage proposal
The girl alleged that the accused proposed marriage to her but when she refused, he turned violent and started thrashing her.
A 19-year-old girl was allegedly assaulted by a youngster and his friends after she turned down his marriage proposal, police said Wednesday.
Sahib Arora of New Kidwai Nagar, his friend Jaanu and their accomplices, who are yet to be identified, were booked on Tuesday night.
In her compliant, the 19-year-old girl said that she met Arora at a party eight months ago and befriended him. On Tuesday night, the accused asked her to meet him near Bhagwan Chowk, where he had come with his friends in a Maruti Suzuki Ritz car.
The girl alleged that the accused proposed marriage to her but when she refused, he turned violent and started thrashing her. The accused tore her clothes and slapped her. When she raised an alarm, the accused fled from the spot, police said.
A case under Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 34 (act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code was registered. A hunt is on for the accused.
