A Chandigarh Police constable suffered head injuries after a speeding car hit his motorcycle near the Kalagram light point in Manimajra on Friday morning.

According to police, the incident took place around 10.35 am, when ASI Nirmal Singh of the traffic police, who was on duty near the wine shop close to the light point, witnessed a white car coming from Govindpura towards Kalagram at high speed and in a negligent manner.
At the same time, a motorcyclist headed towards Manimajra was attempting to cross near the BSNL turn and the car rammed into him.
The victim was identified as constable Pardeep, who was riding an official motorcycle. He suffered head injuries and was rushed to hospital in a PCR vehicle.
The car driver was identified as Aman Khan, 22, a resident of Govindpura, Manimajra. ASI Nirmal stated that the accused was driving rashly, without honking, and posed a danger to public safety.
A case was registered against Khan under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 125 (act endangering life or safety of others) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Manimajra police station.
