Dehlon police have registered a case against six unidentified people, including four women and two men, after a man allegedly fired two shots in the air during a birthday celebration at a roadside dhaba in Ludhiana on Wednesday night. No injuries were reported, police said.

According to the complaint filed by Tarandeep Singh, a bouncer at the dhaba and resident of Siarh village, the incident occurred around 10.30 pm on Wednesday. Singh said an SUV and a car carrying two men, four women and children were parked on the dhaba premises, cutting a cake and bursting firecrackers as part of the birthday celebration. Suddenly, one of the men pulled out a revolver and fired two shots into the air.
When Singh tried to intervene, the group quickly boarded their vehicles and drove away towards Malerkotla.
Assistant sub-inspector Jarnail Singh, the investigating officer, said a case has been registered under Sections 26 and 27 of the Arms Act and Section 125 of the BNS. Police have traced the registration numbers of a Mahindra Scorpio and a Hyundai Verna linked to the incident and are working to identify and apprehend the accused.
