The nagar kirtan covered a 28-km journey during which Rajya Sabha member Balbir Singh Seechewal distributed 3,500 saplings as prasad.
On the occasion, Seechewal urged farmers not to burn stubble, but rather mix it into the soil to improve crop yields, especially for potatoes.
He noted that after Diwali, Delhi’s air quality index had crossed 1,100, while Punjab’s too had gone beyond 400 — far above the safe level of 0 to 50.
