Former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat suffers minor injuries in car accident
Rawat was on the way to Kashipur from Haldwani on Tuesday when around 12 midnight his vehicle hit a divider in Bazpur area of Udham Singh Nagar
Former Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat suffered minor injuries after the vehicle he was travelling in hit a divider in Bazpur area of Udham Singh Nagar district late on Tuesday, a police official said.
He was rushed to the nearest government hospital and later shifted to a private hospital in Kashipur. Rawat was discharged from hospital after some time.
“We rushed to the spot and admitted him to the government hospital in Bazpur. Later, we shifted him to a private hospital in Kashipur after he complained of chest pain,” Bazpur circle officer (CO) Bhupendra Singh Bhandari.
Rawat was on the way to Kashipur from Haldwani on Tuesday when around 12 midnight his vehicle hit a divider. People nearby rushed to the vehicle and informed the police. On seeing Rawat, the police immediately took him to the nearest government hospital. Later, he was shifted to a private hospital in Kashipur. After a medical examination, he was discharged from the hospital at night itself, the CO said.
Harish Rawat gave an update about the incident on X (formerly Twitter), and wrote, “My vehicle collided with a divider in Bazpur on the way from Haldwani to Kashipur. I felt some jerks in my body and underwent medical examinations. Doctors told me that all is well and discharged me. Some of my friends have posted about the incident and some people might be worried. There is no need to worry. I am fine and my colleagues are also fine.”
