MCG asks malls to provide details of parking lots

The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has issued warnings to 127 malls in the city that they will be sealed if they flout parking regulations. The MCG has received several complaints that some malls are charging excessive fees for parking, while having taken rebates on property tax by claiming their basements are not used for commercial activities. The MCG introduced its parking policy in March 2017, and around 120 malls are currently under its jurisdiction. The MCG has formed 16 teams to investigate and ensure that malls are not falsely claiming tax rebates.
