Bikaner: Trainee judge assaulted and robbed near district collector’s residence

A training judicial officer was allegedly assaulted and robbed near the Collector’s residence in Rajasthan’s Bikaner on Tuesday evening, the police said.
According to the FIR, the victim, identified as 25-year-old Pooja Janagal, a 2024-batch Rajasthan Judicial Service (RJS) officer, was heading home when the incident occurred around 6:20pm near Shanti Villa, close to the district collector’s residence.
Two unidentified men on a black motorcycle approached her from behind. One of them struck her on the arm and tried to snatch her handbag. When she resisted, the assailants kicked her scooter, causing her to fall to the ground and get injured. The attackers then snatched the gold chain she was wearing before fleeing the spot, according to the police complaint.
The police report states that Janagal suffered injuries to her face, mouth, and teeth. Her father Shravan Janagal, an advocate, filed the complaint.
A case has been registered under section 307 and section 115(2) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The investigating officer, ASI Tanerao Singh, told HT that multiple teams are working to trace the bike-borne assailants and have begun examining CCTV footage from the area to identify them.
