UP: No HC relief to Mukhtar Ansari’s sons in enemy property case

The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court has rejected the anticipatory bail application of Umar Ansari, the son of gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, in connection with an enemy property case. The court also dismissed a plea by Mukhtar's other son Abbas Ansari, an MLA from Mau, seeking the quashing of a chargesheet in the same case. The charges relate to the fraudulent acquisition of an enemy property in the Jiamau area of the state capital, which Mukhtar Ansari and his two sons allegedly acquired despite knowing its status.
