In Assam’s Sivasagar district, police shot and killed 46-year-old Ranjit Pandav after he allegedly attacked his neighbors and a police officer with a machete during a domestic dispute. Ranjit, who was intoxicated, seriously injured two neighbors before confronting police. He was declared dead at a hospital; his injured neighbors remain in critical condition. Ranjit had a history of domestic violence.
