Experts at a medical education programme in Lucknow have warned that sitting in one posture for several hours or regularly riding a bike for long distances can lead to back pain. Dr Dipak Malviya, head of anaesthesia at the institute, also cited excessive use of air conditioning as a cause of back pain. Malviya said that women experience more pain than men as they usually work for long periods of time in the kitchen or other parts of the house.
