Pune police arrest man for threatening, extorting from politicians

A man in Pune, India has been detained by police for threatening and extorting politicians in the area after his marriage proposal was refused by a woman?s parents. The accused, Shanawaz Gaziykhan, used a similar modus operandi in all the incidents, using WhatsApp to communicate with many men and hack their accounts by stealing their OTP. He then used these accounts to threaten political leaders with ransom calls and death threats. Gaziykhan?s arrest followed the Crime Branch?s Anti-Extortion Unit being called in to investigate a spate of similar incidents.
