A day before, the high-speed corridor had witnessed a huge pile of vehicles following a bizarre accident between 13 vehicles, mostly cars.
The highway traffic police were summoned and with the help of volunteers cleared the traffic. Also, cranes from private operators were rushed to the spot to clear off the stranded truck. However, commuters expressed their displeasure over heavy traffic and complained that the police were slow in their response to the incident.
Lata Phad, Highway State Police, said, “The traffic jam was due to the breakdown of heavy vehicles near Amrutanjan Bridge. We deployed our men and necessary assistance was extended to ensure smooth flow on the expressway.”
