French publisher withdraws school books over 'Jewish settler' reference

French publisher Hachette is recalling three high-school textbooks that referred to victims of the October 7 Hamas attacks as "Jewish settlers," sparking backlash. French President Macron condemned the texts as "revisionism," while the head of the Jewish group Crif criticized them for legitimizing terrorism. Hachette has apologized and is investigating the incident, recalling around 2,000 copies.
