Her complaint said they took her to a deserted field near her house and gang-raped her in front of her father, who was taken hostage and tied to a tree.

Police said the incident occurred in Dighalbank block when the girl was sleeping with other family members in their house, which is distantly located from other houses of the village.
The accused went to the house late into the night and knocked at the door requesting for water. No sooner, the door was opened, they forced their way in, held the victim’s father hostage at gun point before tied his hands and feet in an agriculture field and took turns to rape her.
The victim in her statement to police alleged that the accused people belonged to her village and claimed that if produced before her she would be able to identify her perpetrators.
She said after sexually assaulting her, they left the place threatening her with dire consequences if she approached police. She also alleged that the miscreants brutally thrashed her and her father.
Kishanganj district police chief Kumar Ashish said the victim is 19 years of age.
