Mission Mausam Phase II: IMD to establish 200 automatic weather stations

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) plans to establish 200 automatic weather stations (AWSs) and enhance observational systems as part of Phase II of Mission Mausam, aimed at making India weather-ready by April. This initiative addresses critical monsoon forecasts, which are vital for agriculture. The upgrade will improve localized weather predictions to better manage extreme rainfall events.
