The Karnataka government is contemplating transferring the investigation of violent clashes in Ballari to the Criminal Investigation Department, following the arrest of 26 individuals linked to the violence that erupted between BJP and Congress supporters. The clashes, resulting from a dispute over a political banner, led to the death of a Congress worker. Investigations are ongoing.
