Legal experts give in-principle nod to bill to unseat jailed ministers

Legal experts have tentatively approved the Constitution (130th Amendment) Bill, 2025, which proposes the removal of ministers, including the Prime Minister or chief minister, if detained for 30 consecutive days. The joint parliamentary committee is reviewing this and two other bills, seeking clarifications on various legal aspects. The JPC will reconvene on January 22 for further discussions.
