In a video of the Patna incident, a black car is seen momentarily slowing down before accelerating and hitting several police personnel at the checkpoint.
A speeding SUV rammed police personnel at a checkpoint on Atal Path in Patna, killing a 25-year-old woman constable and critically injuring three others. The incident occurred around 12:30 am in the SK Puri police station area of Bihar's capital. The speeding vehicle also suffered damage to its bonnet and had a BJP flag on it. However, the police have not yet confirmed any political link to the car or its occupants.

The SUV, a Black Scorpio, reportedly traveling at a speed of 90 kmph on the JP Path (Digha police station area), hit sub-inspector Deepak Kumar, assistant sub-inspector Awadhesh, and woman constable Komal while they were attempting to stop it. All three cops were flung into the air after being hit and were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where Constable Komal was declared dead. She was a native of Bihar's Nalanda district. Her mother, Ranju Devi, said that Komal was transferred from Gaurichak police station barely 29 days ago.

Police have launched a probe into the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision, including the identity of the absconding driver and the reason for the vehicle’s excessive speed. The role of the vehicle’s occupants is also under scrutiny,” he told Hindustan Times.
SSP said that vehicle checks were underway from 10:30 pm to 12:30 am across Patna on the directive of DGP Vinay Kumar. The accident happened during one such routine operation.
