Water quality rankings sink without a trace
The Indore drinking water tragedy has sparked calls for a standardized national water quality dashboard, akin to cleanliness rankings, as experts highlight the need for transparency. The Pey Jal Survekshan survey of 485 cities, completed in 2024, remains unpublished despite identifying 46 cities with good water quality. Launched in 2022 under AMRUT 2.0, its findings could enhance public health assessments.
