Yoga poses and meditation quiet the logical brain, which may become overstimulated in stressful situations, helping to promote mental peace. Rapid, shallow breathing during times of stress exacerbates anxiety hence, according to Yoga experts, we may reduce tension and anxiety in our life by using techniques like Trataka meditation, Hatha yoga Kriyas like Dhauthi, Nauli, Pranayama etc. In an interview with Zarafshan Shiraz of HT Lifestyle, Himalayan Siddhaa Akshar, Founder of Akshar Yoga Kendraa, shared, “You may use these different Yoga styles and their mindfulness exercises as part of your daily routine to manage and relieve stress and anxiety. Regular practise will help you reclaim control over your body, mind and spirit, which will enhance how you handle obstacles and hardships in life. Keep in mind that the path to inner peace and wellbeing is frequently one of simplicity.” He highlighted - (Photo by Carl Barcelo on Unsplash)

1. Hatha Yoga: The path of Hatha Yoga is one of internal and exterior cleansing. Consequently, it is an extra yoga route in addition to the four conventional pathways. The fact that these movements involve discipline and willpower makes this approach known as Hatha Yoga.(File Photo)

2. Hatha Yoga Kriyas: When the body and mind are purified, then we can be free from stress. In relation to Hatha Yoga, there are six cleansing methods known as Shat Karma Kriyas or Shat Karmas. The six groups of purification techniques used in hatha yoga are referred to as shatkarmas, where shat stands for six and karma for action. Ancient writings like the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and Gherand Samhita describe them. The six shatkarmas are neti (cleansing of the nasal passages), dhouti (cleansing of the alimentary canal), nauli (strengthening of the abdominal organs), basti (cleansing of the large intestine), kapalbhati (cleansing of the frontal area of the brain), and tratak (intense gazing at a single point to improve concentration and purify the mind).(Unsplash)
