In an interview with HT Lifestyle, Dr Roy Patankar, Gastroenterologist and Director of Zen Multispecialty Hospital in Mumbai's Chembur, explained, “Stomach cancer (gastric cancer) affects one’s stomach. Situated in the upper part of your abdomen (your gastrointestinal lot, or GI), the stomach is responsible for processing the food that you eat. Not many people know about stomach cancer and fail to seek timely intervention. Did you know? Stomach cancer can happen to anyone irrespective of their age.
